As someone who prides herself on her intuitiveness and overall knack for guessing plot twists to stay ahead of the curve, I am indignant to admit that I was successfully led by the stinking red herring Alkaf dangled before me.
I rarely get the opportunity to read books with elements of mystery and murder-solving, so this book counts as my quota for the year (one can only enjoy Agatha Christie-esque intrigue to a limited extent until the constant bated suspense dries dull).
